Experience has proven a need for a more durable and independent transport craft for those occasions when transporters cannot be used. In function, the Type H shuttlecraft (technically termed a "runabout") is, more or less, the same as its predecessor. Now, however, the small vessel possesses its own warp drive, light armament, and a single-person transport unit for emergency situations. Type H craft carry up to two pilots and six passengers.
